Approve FMLA and  Establish Leave Bank Accommodation for John Card

 

WHEREAS, John Card, Maintenance Mechanic II with the Highway Department has requested and is found to be qualified for a Family and Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA), and

 

WHEREAS, Stephen Lynch has requested a leave bank be established for Highway Department employee, John Card, beginning with payroll period 17, Aug. 6, 2017 and

 

WHEREAS, the Town Board considers such requests on a case by case basis, now therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that, in accordance with the CSEA Town of East Hampton Bargaining Unit Contract and in compliance with the FMLA, John Card be and is hereby granted up to 12 weeks leave effective retroactive to July 14, 2017.  In accordance with the provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act and Town FMLA policy, medical benefits will continue and available accrued sick, vacation and personal time will be paid prior to the utilization of unpaid leave, and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that, in accordance with the CSEA Town of East Hampton Bargaining Unit Contract John Card may retain one-half of his annual entitlement of vacation, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that a leave bank be and is hereby established as requested beginning at payroll period 17, Aug. 6, 2017 and that the leave bank be monitored and accounted for by the Town Budget Office.

Authorize Emergency Road Repairs - Lafayette Place

 

              WHEREAS, the Town has been informed that emergency road repairs are needed on Lafayette Place; now therefore, be it

 

              RESOLVED, that the Highway Superintendent, Steve Lynch, is requested to make the necessary emergency repairs; and, be it further

 

              RESOLVED, the Town Clerk is hereby requested to forward a copy of this resolution to Steve Lynch.
