Kathleen Hopkins be Granted FMLA and the Establishment of a Leave Bank Accommodation

 

WHEREAS, Kathleen Hopkins, sanitation helper in the Sanitation Department has requested and is eligible for Family and Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) effective July 11, 2017, and

 

WHEREAS, Stephen Lynch, her department head, has requested a leave bank/ shared time accommodation be established for Kathleen Hopkins, a CSEA member, beginning with pay period 15, July 9, 2017, and

             

WHEREAS, the Town Board considers such requests on a case by case basis, now therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that, in accordance with the CSEA Town of East Hampton Bargaining Unit Contract and in compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Kathleen Hopkins be and she is hereby granted a leave up to 12 weeks in accordance with the provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act & Town FMLA Policy effective July 11, 2017.   Medical benefits will continue and available accrued sick, vacation and personal time will be used prior to the utilization of unpaid leave, and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that, in accordance with the CSEA Town of East Hampton Bargaining Unit Contract Kathleen Hopkins may retain one-half or her annual entitlement of vacation, and, be if further

 

RESOLVED, that a leave bank/shared time accommodation be established as requested beginning at pay period #15, July 9, 2017 and that the leave bank be monitored and accounted for by the Town Budget Office in coordination with the Purchasing Department.

Amend Salaries and Titles of Seasonal Lifeguards

 

Resolved, that the following lifeguards in the Recreation Department were appointed to titles and salaries on earlier resolutions in 2017 and now those titles and salaries are amended as listed below. Salaries are to be paid bi-weekly from budget account A7180-51200 upon proper submission of time records retroactive to listed effective dates; appointments effective through September 15, 2017.

Whereas, the Town Board has authorized CPF land acquisitions in excess of initial projections in the 2017 budget requiring additional funding from the Community Preservation Fund balance, now therefore be it

 

Resolved, that the Budget office is directed to make the following modifications to the 2017 Community Preservation Fund budget:

 

From: Revenue Line CA0-41775 (Appropriated unreserved Surplus) in the amount of $8,000,000

 

To: Budget line CA1940-52702 (Land Acquisition) in the amount of $8,000,000

Financial Impact:

$8,000,000 from CA0-41775 to CA1940-52702

Budget Modification and Approval

 

Whereas, an emergency has arisen involving a private fishing boat that rents a slip at the Town dock in Montauk that is sinking in the slip and cannot be repaired, and

 

Whereas, the boat needs to be pulled from the water and disposed of, and

 

Whereas, the Harbormaster after an exhaustive search could find only one vendor willing to pull the boat and dispose of it, and

 

Whereas, the funding needs to be placed in the appropriate expenditure line to pay the vendor, now therefore be it

 

Resolved, that the Harbormaster and Town Attorney are authorized to sign a contract with Gone Fishing Marine Supply Corp to pull the boat and dispose of it for a price not to exceed $15,000, and be it further

 

Resolved, that the Budget Office is directed to make the following modification to the 2017 Operating Budget to make available the funds to do the work:

 

From A1990-54980 (Contingency) $15,000 to A3125-54572 (Boat Repairs and Maintenance)
