Approve Publications - Live Here, Work Here Newspaper Effort

 

WHEREAS, the Town of East Hampton is co-hosting seminars with Suffolk County Department of Civil Service entitled "Live Here, Work Here" to inform the public of the various employment opportunities in the Town of East Hampton and how to locate and access information related to employment opportunities; and

 

WHEREAS, the Town Board would like to further publicize these seminars in the East Hampton Star and East Hampton Press; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Town Board hereby authorizes a 1/4 page newspaper ad to be published in the October 10, 2018 edition of the East Hampton Press and the October 11, 2018 edition of the East Hampton Star; and be it further

 

RESOLVED, that payment for such publication costs shall be paid from Budget Account # A1670-54941 Public Information in an amount not to exceed $1,000.00.

Accept Donation of Greg Fariel Memorial Bench

 

              WHEREAS, Robin Fariel would like to donate a park bench as a gift to the Town of East Hampton in memory of her brother, Greg Fariel, to be placed at Indian Wells Beach in Amagansett; now, therefore be it

 

              RESOLVED, the Town Board hereby gratefully accepts the donation from Robin Fariel to the Town of East Hampton; and, be it further

 

              RESOLVED, the Town Clerk is hereby requested to forward a copy of this resolution to  Tony Littman, Supervisor of Parks/Building Maintenance.

Adopt 2019 Section 8 Annual Plan

 

              WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, (HUD), requires that all entities administering a Section 8 Tenant Based Assistance program adopt annually a One Year Plan, including an updated Comprehensive Plan for the Section 8 Program; and

 

              WHEREAS, The Office of Housing and Community Development, a department of the Town of East Hampton, has had its staff prepare said plans and made them available for public viewing beginning August 13, 2018 at the Office of Housing and Community Development at 267 Bluff Road in Amagansett; and

 

              WHEREAS, proper public notice was given of said plan's availability and of the public hearing which was held on October 4, 2017, and

 

              WHEREAS, a public hearing was held where the Town Board was available to receive comments regarding said plans, now therefore be it

 

            RESOLVED, that the Town Board now adopts the plan as heard and authorizes the Director of Housing to execute any and all documents related to the adoption of the plan and authorizes the Office of Housing and Community Development to carry out the plan consistent with HUD regulations, and be it further

 

              RESOLVED, that the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to Tom Ruhle, Director of Housing

Retain Rigano, LLC as Outside Environmental Counsel

 

WHEREAS, Rigano, LLC is a New York based law firm that represents clients on environmental, real estate, bankruptcy, litigation and crypto-asset matters; and

 

WHEREAS, Kim Ellen Shipman has filed a claim against The 3M Company (f/k/a Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co.); Angus Fire; The Ansul Company; Buckeye Fire Protection Company; Chemguard; National Foam; and, the Town of East Hampton, Index Number 605271/2018; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the firm of Rigano, LLC is hereby retained as substitute environmental counsel to provide legal services to the Town of East Hampton; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, said counsel is authorized to take all necessary and appropriate action on behalf of the Town in coordination with the Town Attorney; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED that payment to said counsel shall be an amount not to exceed FIFTY THOUSAND ($50,000.00) DOLLARS, from Budget Account SX 5610-54520 upon claim vouchers properly submitted, and in accordance with a letter agreement between the parties, any further expenditures to be subject to review and approval of the Town Board.

Disciplinary Charges Preferred - Suspend Without Pay

 

WHEREAS, Anthony Bennett is employed by the Town of East Hampton as a Automotive Equipment Operator in the Town Highway Department; and

 

WHEREAS, disciplinary charges have been preferred against Mr. Bennett pursuant to Section 75 of the New York Civil Service Law; now therefore be it

 

RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 75 of the New York Civil Service Law, Anthony Bennett has been and is hereby suspended without pay for thirty (30) days, effective upon adoption of this Resolution, pending determination of the disciplinary charges against him; and be it further

 

RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded by the Town Clerks Office to the appropriate personnel.
